I Love Which Wich Contest

For Valentine's Day, I entered this video in the "I love Which Wich Contest."  Emily helped film it and it was a lot of fun.  The video won 2nd place, so I'm ready to head to Which Wich w/ my $50 gift card!

Special thanks to Chelli & Eric and to my wonderful wife Emily for helping me with filming.  Also thanks to all the folks who "liked" the video and commented on it during the contest.

"Babymoon" + Free Food = Great Day!

BABYMOON TRIP... we drove down to Atlanta last night for our very last get-away as a family of 2.  (If you are new to my blog, you can check out the latest update to our Adoption Journey at my wife's blog.)

For today's adventures, our Babymoon included a tour of the CNN Headquarters in Atlanta.  Then we went to IKEA for lunch and for shopping.  The IKEA cafe had a deal on the chicken fingers & fries where you buy one plate, get one free.  Score!

IN OTHER NEWS... In case you haven't seen my tweets or my facebook page, I've entered a video contest on the Which Wich facebook page.  So if you haven't seen it yet, you can go there to see it, and leave a comment & "LIKE" it.  (Help me win the contest...it ends at 5pm Sunday).

Finally, tonight when we got home, I had a facebook msg from the local manager at the Which Wich in Providence (because I featured their storefront in my Which Wich contest video)  ... and he offered to hook me up w/ a free t-shirt and a meal next time I came by the store.  Score!  So I went up there tonight and got my meal free, bought Emily's sandwich, and also got a Which Wich cup & t-shirt.

AWKWARD PERSONAL REALIZATION... I blog a lot about food and I'm not sure what that means.  I guess I enjoy the stories and experience with some of my favorite places.  I don't consider myself a "connoisseur" by any stretch of the word, but I just like to have fun!

More Impersonations for the Holidays

In the car, we had a few more impersonations .... although nothing that compares to the original Donald Duck impersonation by Emily.

Emily, Lance, & Betsy gave a try to do Julia Child (I cannot explain how it got started...)  and then Betsy & Emily re-visited the classic Donald Duck voice.

Today we found out its a girl! (video from today)

Today was an exciting day....We got to go to the doctor with the birthmom to find out if the baby was a boy or girl.  It was a blessing because in our adoption journey, this was en experience that we never thought we would get to be a part of.  The doctor's visit was really good and he baby and birthmother are all healthy.  After about 15 minutes in the ultrasound room, we finally found out that its a girl!

So we went home and several of our neighbors all came out in the ya

rd to see the ultrasound pictures and get excited with us.  We really do have the best neighborhood in the whole world.

We prepared boxes and mailed them to our family so they could open them and have a fun time finding out if it was a boy or girl.  As it turns out, our familes were all doing different things, so it was later in the evening before we got to call them about the boxes.... but each of those conversations were very sweet.  When calling my dad, step-mom, and step-brother, they were so sweet to pray for us on the phone and also to pray for the baby and birthmom.

Today was a lot of fun.  Today feels like we got something.  Today some of the pain of waiting went away.

Today we got to see our daughter.

Today I began to understand what people mean when they talk about all the joy you feel and how all the pain goes away when you hold the baby in your arms. At the end of the day, we laid in bed and laughed together, cried together, and we went to sleep feeling  sooooooo blessed.
